Blessington’s Regeneration Masterplan Launches With Aim To Tackle Vacancy And Dereliction

Blessington has successfully launched  and published its Town Centre First Plan. one of the biggest ever programmes of investments in rural Ireland

Blessington is one of 26 towns across the country to have received resources to regenerate the town .

Town Centre First includes plans to tackle vacancy and dereliction, providing measures to boost and regenerate Blessington.

The plan identifies specific projects to be pursued by community stakeholders

A new Town Regeneration Officer has been appointed in Wicklow County Council to drive the regeneration plans in Blessington.

Newtownmountkennedy has also been approved to develop Town Centre First Plans in the next phase of developments under the programme with a €30,000 fund.

Wicklow Minister Simon Harris has said he will work alongside Heather Humphreys Minister for Community and Rural Development to make sure more towns in the county benefit from this funding and regeneration plans.
