Gardai have launched a major policing operation aimed at encouraging people not to travel to Beaches or scenic locations in Wicklow and around the country over the upcoming Easter weekend.

Thousands of checkpoints will be in place nationwide from now until midnight on Monday, to ensure people are not making non-essential journeys.
