Parents of students due to start school in the Charlesland area have been told doors will not reopen for students as planned at the end of next month.
The new school building is due to provide permanent accommodation for Greystones Community College, currently located in prefabs at the local rugby club. The site will also provide interim facilities for the newly established Greystones Community National School.
However the Department of Education has informed the KWETB that they need to ensure the building is fully fit for handover, prior to accepting it.
Wicklow TD John Brady has called for contingency arrangements to be put in place, to alleviate uncertainty ahead of the new term.
