Arklow RNLI were called out yesterday to assist a vessel that had lost engine power and faced being wrecked, as it drifted toward to Arklow Sandbank.
Meanwhile lifeboat crew working on a wind turbine maintenance vessel who were close to the drifting vessel, heard the call out on the VHF radio and offered assistance. They managed to tow the damaged boat away from the sandbanks, before the Lifeboat crew arrived and brought the vessel with three on board, back to Arklow Harbour.
