It was a busy day for the Arklow lifeboat crew yesterday.
Following a request from the Coast Guard at around 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon, the Lifeboat crew came to the rescue of a fishing vessel, drifting 1 mile North East of Arklow Harbour, which had lost propulsion.
The vessel with three on board, was towed back safely to Arklow harbour.
However they were back in action at twenty past six yesterday evening following reports that a person was missing in a Kayak somewhere North of Arklow. The Lifeboat was launched while other volunteers carried out a shoreline search.
The owner of the kayak, who had made his way to shore was found and the search was stood down.
