Almost 25,000 Cases Of Domestic Abuse Incidents Reported So Far In 2021

Gardai have dealt with an average of nearly 100 domestic abuse incidents every day so far this year.

Almost 25,000 incidents were reported to the force between the start of this year, and September 9th.
Dublin, Cork, Louth and Galway all have very high numbers.

Noeleen Blackwell, from the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, says she doesn't think the problem has reduced since Covid restrictions started to ease.
