Agreement Expected On Leaving Cert, As TUI Calls For Junior Cert To Be Cancelled

The government is hoping final plans for this year's Leaving Cert can be agreed this afternoon.

The cabinet sub-committee on education is scheduled to be updated by Education Minister Norma Foley on the process.

Meanwhile the Teachers Union of Ireland is calling for the junior cert to be cancelled this year.
The TUI says public health officials say it's not possible to hold the exams alongside the leaving cert in June.
