The incident happened in a house at The Crescent in Meadowvale at around 12:30am yesterday morning.
Gardai and emergency services were called to a house at the Cresent, in Meadowvale in Arklow at around half past twelve yesterday morning.
A 37 year old man, named locally as Stephen Kavanagh was found with serious injuries and was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Dublin where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear before a sitting of Bray District Court this evening, charged in connection with the case.
