Gardaí collected €470,000 in fines from people who misused disabled bays last year.
It's a 17 per cent increase on 2018.
According to freedom of information figures, the gardai collected just over €401,000 in fines from 3,385 drivers who parked or stopped in disabled bays in 2018.
There was a big increase last year, with nearly €471,000 collected from 3,664 motorists.
Dublin accounted for close to a half of the offences last year – at 1,600.
Limerick was the next highest, at 276 – marginally more than Galway and Cork.
Five other Garda divisions had more than 100 offences.
The lowest in the country last year was in Meath, with just 22 drivers paying fines.
47 of those were recorded in County Wicklow, bringing in a total of €7,320.
