Dublin riots: Total of 34 arrests as Dublin city wakes up to aftermath of night of chaos and looting.
There were 34 arrests with 32 due in court this morning. 13 shops damaged and 11 Garda vehicles either destroyed or extensively damaged. Three buses and a luas also damaged. Gardaí have described last night's violent scenes in Dublin city centre as 'gratuitous thuggery'
Calm was finally restored around midnight after hours of clashes which involved attacks on Gardaí, burning or vehicles and looting.
It was sparked after the stabbing incident outside a school on Parnell Square.
A 5-year-old girl remains in a critical condition in hospital following the attack.
Two other young children and a woman in her 30s were also treated for injuries after the attack.
