A long-awaited upgrade to emergency medical services in Baltinglass is set to take effect later this year.
The coverage will be operational by the third quarter of 2025.
Currently, Baltinglass lacks ambulance coverage every Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., an arrangement that is also operational in Arklow on Tuesdays.
These service gaps that have been in place in 2012 have left residents reliant on emergency resources from elsewhere in the county or further afield.
Social Democrats TD for Wicklow, Jennifer Whitmore, said the gaps in ambulance service were "unacceptable and posed a real threat" to community safety.
