20 groups in Wicklow are to receive grants worth over 11,000 euro to promote physical activity among elderly members of the community.
383 applications came from designated disadvantaged areas nationwide, 48 from nursing homes and 84 from day care centres.
The scheme is focused on keeping older people active through a variety of sports and activities.
The successful Wicklow groups are:

Wicklow ARA, Ballycoog ICA Guild, Arklow ARA, Greystones Bowling Club, Avoca ARA, Wicklow Sports Partnership, Roundwood Men's Shed, Avoca ICA, Carnew Community Care, 3 Rock Triathlon Club, Tinahely ICA, Tinahely ARA.
