Previous negotiations between local officials and management at Bus Eireann to install a stop on the 133 route ended without agreement.
The new service, introduced earlier this year connects the town to tourist hotspot Glendalough, taking in stops in Rathnew, Ashford, Annamoe, Roundwood and Laragh.
Wicklow TD Simon Harris says the change will be welcomed by those using the service.
