In a new survey from Aviva Insurance Ireland, it was found that one in four people have witnessed someone taking a drink before driving their car in the last 12 months.

This comes ahead of the Christmas period, when the RSA and An Garda Síochána typically renew their appeal to motorists not to drink and drive.

In Wicklow, 13 fixed penalties were issued for drink driving offences between January 2020 and December 2021.
