  POSITION 1

  Senior Bar Supervisor
  Location: Whale Theatre
  Job Type: Part-time

  
  About the Role
  We are looking for an experienced Senior Bar Supervisor to lead our theatre bar operations
  during live events. This hands-on role includes supervising staff, managing cash handling and
  stock, maintaining cellar operations, and ensuring excellent customer service and
  compliance with health and safety standards.
  Key Responsibilities

  •  Supervise bar staff during events and ensure efficient customer service.
  •  Prepare cash floats, reconcile tills, and complete end-of-shift cashing up.
  •  Conduct weekly stock takes and manage deliveries, cellar organisation, and stock rotation.
  •  Update stock records using the EPOS system.
  •  Coordinate beer line cleaning and minimise product wastage.
  •  Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and venue presentation.
  •  Act as keyholder during operational shifts.

  About You
  You'll have:

  •  Previous experience in a bar supervisory or assistant management role.
  •  Experience with cash handling, stock control, and EPOS systems.
  •  Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work evenings and weekends in a busy live events environment.

  POSITION 2 - Part-Time Managerial Assistant

  
  About the Role
  We are seeking a proactive and organised Part-Time Managerial Assistant to support the
  Theatre Manager/Artistic Director with the day-to-day administration, operations and
  promotion of the theatre. This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-
  paced arts environment, can manage live events, and is able to balance multiple priorities
  with professionalism and attention to detail.

  
  About You
  The ideal candidate will have:

  •  A full, clean Irish/EU Category B driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  •  Previous experience in an administrative, operations, event coordination or managerialsupport role (experience in the arts, theatre, hospitality or events is an advantage).
  •  A qualification in Arts Management, Business, Event Management or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and confidence using databases and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. TicketSolve), Mailchimp and social media platforms is desirable.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to plan, coordinate and manage theatre events from set-up through to completion.
  • A professional, flexible approach with the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and be available to work evenings and weekends when required.
