Heritage Week

To celebrate National Heritage Week and the National Heritage Week awards, Dave Harrington has OPW Family Heritage cards to be won this week.

That’s free admission to more than 45 Heritage sites around Ireland for a year!

National Heritage Week runs from August 14th - 22nd and there's still plenty of time to get involved.

Local heritage groups and organisers, families and communities are invited to develop projects around any aspect of heritage – built, cultural or natural.

This year National Heritage Week is all about ‘opening the door to heritage’ and getting as many people involved and engaged in heritage as possible.

In particular, consider how you can connect with ‘heritage newcomers’, who have not engaged with National Heritage Week before; groups or individuals who may not traditionally feel included in local heritage; and heritage enthusiasts of all ages, when planning their projects.

Project ideas can be submitted to HeritageWeek.ie between now and Monday,30th of August.

All participants who successfully upload a project to HeritageWeek.ie will be considered for a National Heritage Week award, which will be announced in October. There will be 6 award categories, including a heritage award for the best project in each county, so why not get competitive!

The website is HeritageWeek.ie.
