Bittersweet journey for Louth mum as son conceived four months after father’s tragic death meets his Australian family.

Lisa met her future husband Steve Burgess at a wedding, and one year later, they were married themselves in Italy, not knowing just how brief their union would be. The couple had only married on September 3rd 2014, and Steve died of cancer aged 44 on December 9th 2015, barely 15 months later.

They had planned ahead when it came to children, and Lisa made the heartbreaking decision to try and conceive a child after her husband had died, using his frozen sperm, and Lisa joined us to share her story with us.
