A Status Yellow weather warning for snow, ice and wind is in place for Leinster, Munster and Connacht.
The alert will last for 24 hours with up to 5 centimetres of snow falling in some areas of the country.
People are being warned of poor visibility nationwide while there will also be a risk of flooding in the South.
Gavin Gallagher from Met Eireann says the snow fall will hit Wicklow in the afternoon, but that it wouldn’t be a significant weather event, as previously forecast last weekend.
