Wicklow TD Welcomes Announcement School Bus Route B9212 Reinstated

Social Democrats TD for Wicklow, Deputy Jennifer Whitmore has today welcomed the announcement that school bus route B9212 has finally been reinstated for the first time since September 2023. Whitmore made the comments following communication received from the Regional Transport Manager responsible for the Wicklow school service.Whitmore said “It is very welcome news to hear that the B9212 route, which is one of the last remaining routes to be reinstated in Wicklow will recommence on the 8th of April. I know parents are relieved that this route has now finally been resolved, albeit for the last term of the school year.  The impact that the non-operation of this service had on parents and students cannot be understated.“With one of the main difficulties faced by Bus Eireann being the recruitment of drivers for Bus Eireann,  I am heartened to hear that a newly recruited driver will be driving on this route for Bus Éireann for the remainder of the year.“The timetable is as before with no changes.   The bus will drop pupils in Wicklow town as previously, including dropping and collecting pupils from Coláiste Chill Mhaintáin.   The service will also operate at the earlier school times on a Wednesday afternoon as the previous timetable did. Official notification has also been sent to the parents of pupils who have been issued with tickets for this service.   A list of pupil names will also be given to the driver to cover any lost or mis-laid tickets.
