Covid 19 Expected To Cost HSE €1.8 Billion By The End Of The Year

The HSE estimates it could spend €1.8 billion on Covid-19 related costs by the end of the year.

So far the health service has spent an additional 400 million euro as a result of the outbreak.

The cost of PPE and carrying out contact tracing are the two of the main burdens on the HSE'S finances.

CEO Paul Reid says the inflated cost of PPE hasn't helped.
