Wicklow T.D. Raises Concerns At Low Staffing Levels For Child And Adolescent Mental Health Services

It’s being claimed that some parts of the country currently have less than half the recommended number of staff required for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Figures supplied to Fianna Fáil T.D. Stephen Donnelly, has confirmed a postcode lottery exists for mental health services.

Two Community Healthcare Organisation areas, 5 and 7 have less than half the staff needed.

Area 5 which covers the South East including Wicklow Wexford and  Carlow, has just 44% of the recommended clinical staff, while area 7 which includes Kildare, Dublin South West, Dublin West and Dublin South City, has 43% of the clinical staff required.
