A celebratory look at Ireland's incredible contribution to the culinary and drinks world through the eyes of Wicklow farmer and his merry band of dairy farms is to premiere in South Wicklow next week
A new culinary themed film which was shot in Co. Wicklow will have its Irish premiere at the Courthouse Arts Centre in Tinahely next week (August 1st).
A Sip of Irish features the daily life of a farm in the south Wicklow village where Joe Hayden is a dairy producer.
Director and producer Frank Mannion, who's worked with film luminaries such as Ian McKellen and Judi Dench, also used St Patrick's Well in Toberpatrick as a setting.
The film features well-known personalities Una Healy, Ryan Tubridy, Wicklow's Laura Whitmore, Michael Flatley, Pat Shortt, and Prince Albert of Monaco..no less!
Frank has told East Coast FM how the happy cows in Tinahely produce vast quantities of milk for the eternal favourite liquor Baileys:
''I saw first hand the cows and the calves how happy they were, but they happy because they have the best and most nutritious grass.
''You know Wicklow has its own micro climate, its perfect for dairy production but you need very able scientifically knowledgeable farmers like Joe Hayden to make it work.''
Frank told us that his film crew weren't the only visitors to mark a visit to the Baileys farm in Tinahely recently:
''The Real Housewives of Orange County had paid a visit a few monthly previously, so Joe had five divas of a different kind to look after on the farm that day!
''They enjoyed the Baileys as well.''
