Wicklow Short Film Award Recipients Get €15,000 Funding

'Remnant' and 'Reprisal' will be submitted to local and international film festivals once completed.

Two Wicklow film makers have been awarded €15,000 for upcoming projects.

Tina O’Reilly and Jonathan Shaw are the recipients of the Wicklow Short Film Award for 2025.

Their short film projects 'Remnant' submitted by Tina and 'Reprisal' submitted by Jonathan were selected by an independent adjudication panel.

The film awards serve as a stepping stone in the careers of Wicklow-based filmmakers and support greater recognition of the independent film-making tradition in the county.
 

This funding helps the projects to progress from script to screen, providing opportunities for locally based cast and crew.

Once completed, the 'Remnant' and 'Reprisal' will be submitted to local and international film festivals.

The funding is part of ongoing support provided to the local screen sector by Wicklow County Council and Screen Wicklow, with the support of Clermont Screen Hub.
