In the song "Sweet Nothing", Swift makes reference to her and Joe Alwyn's visit to Wicklow.
Taylor Swift's new album Midnights released today and it offers insight into her personal life and relationship with her boyfriend, British actor Joe Alwyn, while also embracing a dramatic new sound – and there’s even a Wicklow reference.
In the album's penultimate song, "Sweet Nothing", Swift makes reference to her and Alwyn's visit to Wicklow while Alwyn was filming a scene for the TV adaptation of Conversations With Friends. The verse is as follows:
I spy with my little tired eye
Tiny as a firefly, a pebble
That we picked up last July
Down deep inside your pocket
We almost forgot it
Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?
The song was co-produced by Taylor Swift and songwriter Jack Antonoff, who some may remember as a member of pop rock band Fun.
