
The funding is music to ears of three local music groups in Bray, Aughrim and Avoca.
Young musicians in County Wicklow are set to benefit from new funding.
Its aimed at expanding access to music education across the county.
Three local music organisations have been awarded a total of €7,000 in grant funding to support their work in nurturing young talent and delivering music education across the county.
Speaking about the announcement, Tánaiste Harris said:
It is so important young people are given the opportunity to be creative, to express themselves, and to bring communities together music education plays a vital role in this.
This funding will help ensure that more young people across Wicklow have the chance to engage with music, develop their talents, and participate in classes, regardless of their background or circumstances.
The grants are part of a broader effort to strengthen arts education and foster creativity in communities throughout Ireland.
The three groups awarded funding in this round are:
- Wicklow Miners CCE who receive €3,000
- Anne Devlin CCE who receive €2,000
- Major Minors Junior Orchestra who receive €2,000
