More than a dozen degree courses will begin next year without a CAO points requirement.
The courses will range from areas such as business and engineering to computer science and nursing.
The courses will be assigned to different regions, with nursing courses based in the northwest and media related courses based in Dublin.
It's part of efforts to reduce college dropout rates and unify further education colleges and universities.
