A new €19 million project will see changing and showering facilities built at beaches around the country.
The facilities will also include lockers for personal belongings as well as induction areas for water sports.
However despite having one of the most visited beaches on the East Coast, Wicklow will not benefit from the investment.
Curracloe beach in Wexford and Killiney beach in South County Dublin are included in the project.
There will be a small fee for the use of hot showers.
