Wicklow Gardaí Target Drug Operations In Bray And Tallaght

Two “highly significant” seizures worth a total of €7,500 were made in the past week.

The specialist drug squad in Bray made the seizures over the past week, aimed at dismantling drug distribution in the locality.

Bray’s Drugs Unit stopped a car in the vicinity of Fassaroe, in a targeted operation, on Wednesday June 18th and seized €2,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin.

In a separate and unrelated operation two days later, the local drugs unit raided a house in Wolfe Tone Square and seized cocaine worth €5,500.

Two men, age 48 years and 32 years, were arrested and charged in connection with these latest drug seizures, to appear in court in July.

Speaking to East Coast FM, Garda Sergeant John Fitzpatrick of Bray Garda Station said:

Bray’s Drugs Unit is busier than ever, and is always working hard, behind the scenes.

A link between Bray gangs and organised crime groups based in Tallaght remains “an active policing issue in terms of organised criminal activity in north Co Wicklow”.
