Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme offers up to €100,000 to help restore premises damaged by recent floods.
Wicklow businesses, community, voluntary, and sports organisations affected by recent flooding can access financial support through the Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme.
The scheme is designed to help those who, through no fault of their own, have been unable to obtain flood insurance. It provides contributions to cover costs of restoring premises to their pre-flood condition, including replacing flooring, fixtures, fittings, and, where relevant, damaged stock.
Funding is provided in two stages:
- An initial payment of up to **€5,000** is available, depending on the scale of damage, with the aim of getting support to organisations as quickly as possible.
- Organisations facing significant damage exceeding €5,000 can apply for additional support of up to €100,000, which will involve a building assessment.
A small business under the scheme is considered to include enterprises with up to 50 employees.
The scheme is administered by the Irish Red Cross on behalf of the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. Full details and application forms are available here
