Wicklow Farmyard Animals To Feature In Dublin Crib Display

Dublin city's live animal crib will make an appearance this Christmas after all.

The farmyard animals will be on show at St Stephen's Green, after a backlash over the attraction being scrapped.

The Christmas tradition of live animals as part of a nativity scene in Dublin city centre, that's been running since the mid 90s, has been resurrected.

That's after the Lord Mayor decided not to go ahead with the usual event outside the Mansion House.

The Irish Farmers’ Association, along with the Office of Public Works, have joined forces to bring a donkey, two sheep, and a goat to their new home at the Summer House in St Stephen’s Green Park.

They'll be on show from Thursday December 8th, returning to their farm in Wicklow each afternoon.

Minister of State with the OPW Patrick O'Donovan says the location offers an appropriate, sheltered space for the animals, that's easily accessible for the public.
