Two angling initiatives in Wicklow are to benefit from funding awarded through Inland Fisheries Ireland.
Arklow Tidy Towns will look to carry out improvement works at the riverside amenity in the town and support bio-diversity in the river and along the river bank, with a view to improve access to angling.
A project on the River Dargle in Bray will also support the provision of CCTV equipment to monitor a known salmon poaching hotspot and help protect salmon populations in the area.
Over one million euro in funding has been awarded to 25 projects in 16 counties nationwide.
