MyHome's Joane Geary has told East Coast FM news that's there a slight settling in the market locally in Co. Wicklow:
''What we're seeing in particular in Wicklow in the last three months, so the last quarter, is that prices have fallen back a little bit by seven and a half thousand euro.
Now prices are still rising in general and it is very difficult to still get on the market, but we're seeing that the market is starting to slow down a wee bit and that is very much in evidence in Wicklow also.''
She adds that there's some availability in the Wicklow market:
''So there's now almost 600 properties available for sale in Wicklow at the end of quarter three and that's an increase of four percent. An increase is a good thing, albeit it is still a very minor increase in Wicklow.''
Prices in the county cost a pretty penny according to Ms. Geary:
''The median asking price for a property in the county is now €430,000. If I was looking to buy a three-bed sim detached in Wicklow, for example, that's now standing at about €425,000 and prices in that category for a three-bed sim detached have risen by €30,000 compared to this time last year.''
