The warning for the county is in effect from 3 am on Thursday Feb 5th for 24 hours.
Wicklow faces a challenging 48 hours with extreme weather and flooding risk in the coming days.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange rain warning for the county with heavy rain forecast to fall on already saturated ground.
The orange warning, the second-highest level in Met Éireann’s colour-coded system, is in effect from 3 am on Thursday Feb 5th for 24 hours.
Forecasters are warning very heavy rain could lead to localised and river flooding in parts of the county.
Conditions are being closely monitored by the National Emergency Co-ordination Group. The group reconvened on Wednesday to prepare for possible flooding in areas already hit hard by recent storms.
Agencies and local authorities have been replenishing sandbags, clearing drains and preparing response measures ahead of the expected downpours.
Residents and motorists are advised to stay informed on weather updates and traffic conditions, and to take care when travelling if conditions worsen.
