The Sláintecare Implementation Advisory Council's seeking an urgent meeting with the head of the HSE and Department of Health on the future of the reform plan.
The group met yesterday evening to consider last week's discussion with the Health Minister and reflect on its implementation, following the resignation of two senior members.
It was agreed at the meeting to ask Stephen Donnelly to extend the council's term of office from October until the end of the year.
