The former CEO and Chairman of Anglo Irish Bank died last week at the age of 73, following a short illness.
Mr Fitzpatrick was acquitted twice after facing trials on charges of financial irregularities.
His tenure at Anglo will be remembered for the part it played during the financial crash.
