A West Wicklow businessman has withdrawn his plans to develop an eight million euro holiday village in Baltinglass.
The plans lodged in May of this year, included 44 holiday lodges and glamping tents with private decks and hot tubs, along with a visitor centre and cafe. It also provided for facilities for cycle hire and water based activities including kayaking and fishing.
Joe Germaine says the project would have created a huge economic boost for the town.
But according to the Wicklow people, he said he has withdrawn the plans because of the amount of red tape involved and a lack of interest from Wicklow county council.
