Operation ‘Twin Tracks’ Targeting Anti-Social Behaviour On Wicklow Rail Routes

Bray, Greystones, Wicklow, Rathdrum and Arklow stations will all be monitored as part of the Garda Twin Tracks Operation targeting anti-social behaviour on public transport

Gardaí are taking part in a nationwide day of action today targeting anti-social behaviour on public transport — with a special focus on rail services across County Wicklow.

As part of *Operation Twin Tracks*, Gardaí are joining forces with Iarnród Éireann, Transdev — the operators of Luas — and the National Transport Authority to promote safety and community engagement on trains, trams, and stations.

Local Gardaí will be out in force along the Wicklow and Wexford rail line — including Bray, Greystones, Wicklow town, Rathdrum and Arklow stations — engaging with passengers and staff, offering safety advice, and ensuring public order on services.

Chief Superintendent Jane Humphries from the Garda National Community Engagement Bureau says the initiative ''is about maintaining a visible Garda presence, helping passengers feel safe, and tackling anti-social behaviour before it escalates.''

The campaign also aims to improve rail safety, protect life and property, and support transport staff working on busy commuter and intercity routes.

Community policing teams will host engagement stands at major train stations across the country, with officers available to offer personal safety and crime prevention advice.

Bray, Greystones, Wicklow, Rathdrum, Arklow, Gorey, Enniscorthy, Wexford, and Rosslare stations.

*Operation Twin Tracks* continues throughout the day on the DART, Luas, and intercity services — including those serving County Wicklow.

The objectives of this initiative are;
• To ensure public safety by addressing anti-social behaviour
• Protecting life and property
• To engage with the public and provide crime prevention advice
• To support Irish Rail and Transdev personnel in tackling these issues
• Vindicating the human rights of each individual
• Preventing crime, bringing criminals to justice, through the detection and
• investigating of crime, and improving rail safety.
