A new building project at St Catherine's Special School is to move forward to tender.
The new development is expected to cater for 25 classes, over 2 floors.
There will also be a number of purpose built facilities including play areas on the new 5.2 acre site.
Councillor Stephen Stokes says it will help them expand their services.
