A do not consume water notice affecting 213 residents and businesses in Barndarrig and parts of Kilbride is expected to be lifted within the next ten days.
It was first issued in early February after elevated levels of nitrite were detected in the water supply.
Following a parliamentary question from Social Democrats TD in Wicklow Jennifer Whitmore, the Minister of State for Local Government Peter Burke said efforts are continuing to lift the notice as soon as possible. He said Irish Water is confident that the notice will be lifted subject to agreement with the HSE and the EPA that the water levels are correct. He added that a permanent solution to prevent the situation from happening again should be in place in the next two months.
