Philip Doyle, a father-of-three, was originally from Bray
It happened in Ramsgate Village in Gorey just before 2 o'clock on Sunday morning.
The 33 year old was discovered with stab wounds in the front garden of a house and died at the scene a short time later.
The woman in her 30s is being held at Gorey Garda Station.
