Legal Challenge To 2020 Leaving Cert Grades Process Due To Begin Today

A 2020 Leaving Cert student will lead the legal challenge today over the standardisation of this year's exam grades.

The outcome of the High Court case, taken by Belvedere College student Freddy Sherry, will impact on a number other cases taken over the standardisation process.

He claims the Minister for Education's direction not to rely on previous school data or schools historic records in the process led to him being unfairly downgraded by 55 points

2019 Leaving Cert Students who say they are unfairly disadvantaged by grade inflation this year, and home-schooled students, have also taken legal challenges.
