An investigation is underway into what has been described as the desecration of an historic tomb in Baltinglass in West Wicklow.
The tomb, which is the burial site of several generations of the Stratford family in the grounds of St Mary’s Church, was found to have been broken into and vandalised, after skull parts were found in the Graveyard.
Gardaí along with members of a Crime Scene Unit from Dublin, have carried out a forensic examination of the scene and investigations are continuing.
They’ve appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
