A grenade has been found washed up in Arklow
Gardaí received reports of the device at Ennereilly Beach at 2.30pm on Saturday.
Local officers set up a cordon and the army carried out a controlled explosion.
In a statement, Gardaí say it has been confirmed as a historical weapon.
