Businesses in a north Wicklow town are to benefit from government funding to upgrade their building facades.
The primary aim of the government backed Street Enhancement Scheme aims to make towns and villages more attractive places to live, work or visit.
Retail and property owners in Newtownmountkennedy will now have access to grants worth up to €100,000 they can use to give their business a face lift.
The 26 towns nationwide due to receive the funding were selected by each local authority in consultation with local businesses and community groups.
Wicklow County Council will begin advertising for applications in the coming weeks.
