Following input from Wicklow IFA, Gardaí have launched a pilot initiative aimed at building closer links between rural communities and local Gardaí, to combat incidents of rural crime in the county.
Three rural liaison officers, one for each district in county Wicklow, have been appointed and will be the point of regular contact for all IFA members and local communities.
IFA’s Wicklow Chairman Chris Hill he looks forward to building strong, open lines of communication between members of the farming community and the gardai.
