Five men Have Been Detained Following A Stabbing Incident Yesterday On Abbey Street
Gardaí in Wicklow have arrested five men in Arklow following another reported stabbing incident in the town.
The quintet were detained following the incident which occurred at around 5 pm yesterday on Abbey Street.
They are being held at various garda stations in Wicklow and Wexford.
A man in his 30's was brought to St Vincent’s hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
It's the third stabbing in Arklow in the last three weeks.
A man in his 50's was injured in a similar attack in the early hours of Saturday, June 28th, while on Monday a man in his 40's was hospitalised having sustained serious injuries in another further assault.
It is not known if any of these assaults are connected. Gardaí in the county say investigations are ongoing.
