It remains unclear whether the Bray to Greystones Cliff walk will fully reopen.
A recent council report suggests that a “do nothing "option must be considered, as attempts are made to address the safety issues along the route.
The Council say “As works to deal with the known existing issues in order to reopen the route could ultimately prove very costly with the potential for only a very short term life span, the Council is seeking to carry out an overall holistic assessment of the full length of the Cliff Walk from Bray to Greystones to better understand all the issues facing this route and to develop a strategy to reopen the route in as short a time frame as possible whilst preparing a long term management plan for the mitigation of future issues that have a high risk of occurring."
“Please note that a 'Do Nothing' scenario, whereby the existing Cliff Walk remains closed for the safety of the public until such time as longer term offline measures could be implemented, should also be a proposed solution that is considered within the alongside the consultants proposed solutions to reopen the walk.”
