Transport Infrastructure Ireland have allocated €1 million in funding for improvements along the N81 in West Wicklow.
A number of minor works will take place including at the Hangman’s Bend realignment scheme and on new footpaths at Tuckmill.
The funding allocation will also allow for the review of road safety improvements needed to the south of Blessington, and proper bus stop facilities at Hollywood Cross.
Wicklow Minister Simon Harris has welcomed the news, and says Transport Minister Eamon Ryan is working to ensure a more integrated plan is put in place to promote active travel and road safety along the route.
