Full funding has been secured for the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray, following a joint appeal by two town councillors to Wicklow County Council.
A €1.7 Million deficit in the County Council’s budget, caused by a reduction in income due to the Covid-19 pandemic, had threatened funding for the arts centre.
However in their submission to the County manager , the Cathaoirleach of Bray Municipal District Councillor Anne Ferris and Councillor Erika Doyle outlined the value of the Mermaid, as the arts centre for the entire County.
