First Covid-19 Vaccine In Ireland To Be Administered On December 30th

Almost 10,000 doses of the Pfizer Biontech vaccine will arrive in the country on St Stephen's Day.

It's after the green light was given to the Pfizer Bio N Tech vaccine by the European Medicines Agency and the European Commission.

Taoiseach Michael Martin says while people will be disappointed with the new restrictions announced today, there is hope.

Health Minister Wicklow TD Stephen Donnelly says we will face level 5 restrictions armed with a vaccine.

He expects that after the first consigment arrives, the numbers delivered will ramp up in January
